We are grateful for the Lord's continued blessing on the French ministry in Moncton. Even through times of both rejoicing and sorrow, God is building His church, opening doors for the Gospel, and growing believers in their faith. Thank you for your faithful prayers, which are a tremendous encouragement to us.
Praise for - God’s help during the bilingual memorial service for our dear Acadian brother, D., who went to be with the Lord on June 3. More than 60 people attended, many of whom had never been in a Baptist church, and the Gospel was presented clearly. Though we deeply miss D., who was a pillar of the French ministry from its beginning, we rejoice in the living hope we have in Christ.
- the spiritual growth of the ladies in Cherith's French Bible study. At their final study before the summer break, they surprised her with a beautiful bouquet, a candle, and a thoughtful card expressing their appreciation.
- JF's baptism on June 7 and for God's continued work in her life.
- bringing several new people to our Sunday ministries, including E. from Quebec, who appears to be sincerely searching.
- J.'s salvation and for her continued spiritual growth through Bible studies with Cherith.- the opportunities Cherith has to minister through music. In addition to us hosting a Spring Music Recital and her training four advanced students to teach beginning piano, she continues coordinating the special music ministry at Emmanuel Baptist Church, helping others develop and use their gifts for the Lord.
- a wonderful Canada Day fellowship picnic with our Espérance Vivante family. We enjoyed beautiful weather, sweet fellowship, and 22 in attendance, including two visitors.
- an encouraging first Sunday with having our French service earlier for the month of July. Attendance at the French worship service nearly doubled to 26 people.
- opportunities to answer E.'s questions and that he would clearly understand and believe the Gospel.
- Pray for lost souls and for continued spiritual growth for each one we are ministering to, including J. and D. Pray that D. will become increasingly involved in serving the Lord.
- Pray for Caleb as he continues his summer ministries. After serving in our ministries, Newfoundland, Forest Glen Bible Camp, and the Maritime Games here in Canada, he is now completing a pastoral internship in Iowa. Pray for him as he serves at Camp Barnabas and then ministers in France and Ukraine. Also pray for the Lord's provision for his remaining travel expenses and college tuition.- Pray for our family as Cherith and I travel briefly to Michigan in early August for a Broeckert family reunion while Josiah remains in Moncton for his summer job. Pray for those serving in our absence, for the continued growth of the ministry here, and that the Lord will grant us a refreshing time with family before we return.
