Thank you for praying for our
friends in their time of grief, and for our involvement in the memorial
services yesterday. It was such an encouragement to hear from several
who were praying.
We attended two services yesterday for our friend,
each time waiting to be called up to share and sing. However, to
our disappointment, the call never came. At the end of the day, before we
left the home where our friend (T's widow) received a packed houseful of
guests, I gave my notes to her and told her that they were the notes for what I
had planned to share. She gratefully accepted them to read later and apologized
for the lapse in communication, that the director hadn't been informed. I
suggested we sing the song we'd prepared at another time for her.
So, while we were disappointed that we didn't have the
opportunities we'd planned for throughout a draining day, we were encouraged to
have been able to be present to share the day with our friends, including
numerous opportunities to connect with other parents and even to talk about our
faith. It has been an encouragement to know that God is in control and that it
is for His work and Kingdom that we are here. So how He chooses to use us is
His business. May He keep us faithful and ready! We appreciate your continued
prayers for us in the days to come.
